I love how the colors in this painting capture that "Golden Hour" feel when the sun is low in the sky. It imparts a calm feeling of ease and stillness. The building of layers was quite the journey as the pictures below suggest. The painting went through dramatic changes as I applied a spectrum of colors as an underpainting. Small views of the underlying colors were left revealed, lending an optical vibrance to the final image.
